Venue: 5917 Algier Street (parallel to Rockwell Drive), Bgy. Poblacion, Makati City

Time: 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.

So after a week, I’m here for the CALLBACK. I really don’t have the full detail of the story yet, basta all I know is that ‘In Nomine Matre’ translates as “In the Name of the Mother” in English. It’s a love story, showcasing Flamenco dance of course. Aside from the small Flamenco enthusiasts here in the country, we don’t know who will watch the film. But that’s one thing I admire about Independent Films. They may not have big budget, no super special effects, no big production outfits that will support them in terms of marketing, advertisement, and the likes, but story wise, concept wise, and as well as the execution of each scenes, full of artistry. Maraming fresh ideas. Good cinematographers and commercial directors.

Well, I arrived early I think around 1:30 p.m. It felt great kasi nauna ako sa lahat. Ako pa lang mag-isa sa dance studio. *ehem.. ehem.. professionalism* pa-impress? haha (LOL). One by one the production staff came in, the director and I shook hands, nervousness. One lady approached me and said “Good thing you made it. You were with the monologue piece ‘ALLAN’ right? I’m one of the judges.” We shook hands din. After that, na-shy ako bigla. OMG they remembered my audition piece for acting. (It’s a monologue I’ve played before when I was in theater) nakakahiya, waaaaaaaaaa! Oh well, yaan mo na. Then little by little the others are coming in, nervousness again. The place is the dance studio of the famous Ms. CLARA RAMONA —- Filipina flamenco artist who has professionally gained recognition for her mastery of this complex art form. Try to google her na lang for more info. Ang galing! She’ll be teaching us few things about Flamenco. Then I think from today’s activities the director, Mr. Will Fredo, will cast the characters depending on our performance. (I have to do well! He has to pick me. harhar! ) Ang hirap ng Flamenco, it’s really different from what I am used to do: Jazz, Contemporary and Hip-Hop. But I like challenges. So there. Warm-up sisiw. But when we started na, I felt unconscious plus the intimidation rush. Ang gaganda ng mga kasama ko. Those who are really into Flamenco knows what to wear syempre. Ako hindi prepared as well as the others. I should’ve wear hard heeled shoes, long skirts and a sexy top. Eh naka-jazz pants black lang ako, RUBBER SHOES, and not so tight shirt. (hip-hopper) ewwwness. Pero intimidation rush lasts lang for about 15 minutes. My focus was to get the routine she was teahing us. I felt good when we were dancing Flamenco na in fairness, you’ll feel proud. Chin up, astig face and astig attitude must be show cased. The stomping of the shoes across the wooden dance floor is making it more aaaaaaaastig. The ‘tapang’ in the face, the attitude! I love eeeht, GIRL POWER! Nervousness ko wala na. hihihi.. After all the activities we have done today, we were grouped into 4, given 10 minutes to combine all the routines and then showcase them in front of Ms. Clara and Sir Will. NAKAKA-KABA NA NAMAN ‘YON! Group 1 kami. Bahala na. I have to feel good inside to look good outside. I have to feel the YABANG in me. hehe. kidding. So there, all 4 groups are done na. Hindi pa sasabihin today kung sino ang makakasama sa movie, but one thing’s for sure that they will be needing 30 dancers and actors. So more or less 70% of the people here are included na (I hope I’m one of them). Before we end up the callback today, Sir Willy asked Ms. Clara to sit with a chair at the center and he’ll call for people then stand beside her. The Flamenco ladies are called. Then shit I heard him say, looking at me “You with the Blue shirt go there”. I think the objective was to cast down the characters. I don’t put my hopes too high, sakto lang. Then pinaupo na muna ako. Then after awhile, tinawag ulet. This time we were asked to just stand and look at the camera, with the “A” (attitude). hahaha natatawa ako kasi para siyang family portrait. Pamilya Zaragoza. Teleserye. Naka-dress pa yung ibang ladies. Very Spanish. Ang funny.

UWIAN TIME:

I have a new friend, Ate Angel. One of the auditioners. 30 years old, with a 3 year old kid, but no husband. Maybe we met people in our lives talaga for a purpose. Maybe God wanted me to see that I’m luckier with my situation compared to other people. And I should be thankful. I’m talking about my personal life. So ayun, nagkuwentuhan kami about our lives sa mini-stop near the area. It was fun. Really. =) New found friend..

Now that I don’t have my phone with me, I told them to just contact me through my email address instead.

I dont know how to end this one now. But I’m hoping I could nail the part. New career na naman ito, harhar! Just to keep myself busy and to continue what I love doing. *cross fingers*

Moving on to the CALLBACK:
